Fastest 50

The 2018 Fastest 50 needed a concept that captured what the list actually celebrates — companies that don’t just grow, but surge. The starting point was surfing: competition, momentum, coming out on top. From there it sharpened into something more ownable: companies riding the wave of success.

The “50” had always been central to the logo, so rather than work around it, I leaned into it. I sculpted the numerals into a wave form — fluid and dynamic, but carefully balanced so the “50” never got lost in the movement. The logo ended up doing double duty, reading as both typography and illustration at once.

With such a distinctive mark in hand, the campaign direction became clear. The wave forms from the logo became the visual engine for everything else — expanding, cropping, and layering across teaser ads, section covers, signage, and event slides. One strong idea, carried all the way through.
