NOAA Ford Island Campus

When NOAA developed their new Pacific Campus on Ford Island, the vision extended beyond offices and labs — they wanted a museum space that could bring their mission to life for the public. As part of the design team, I was brought in to help create an experience that communicated NOAA’s research, environmental work, and legacy in a way that was visually engaging and accessible to everyday visitors.

Given creative freedom with NOAA’s image archive, we curated and shaped the content into interpretive displays, environmental graphics, and storytelling elements that gave the space a sense of wonder and discovery. The archive itself was the foundation — the challenge was organizing it in a way that felt cohesive and purposeful rather than encyclopedic.

The result was a museum environment that honored the depth of NOAA’s scientific work while making it genuinely compelling to walk through. A space that didn’t just inform visitors, but invited them to feel connected to the oceans and atmosphere in a way they might not have before.
