Logo and Announcement ad for the 1st ever Pacific Business News Pineapple Awards. The Pineapple Awards recognizes the best of the best in Hawaii tourism and hospitality.

I tried to melt vintage Hawaii with a modern high-rise Hawaii. For the logo, I paired a contemporary font with serif type face. I tried as hard as I could to not include a pineapple in the logo, but at the end I needed to have it in there. The pineapple was a tough one, I didn't want anything that would look "corny" or typical. What I ended up with is an abstract take on a painting of a pineapple. Along with the patterned background, give the ad a lot of contrast.
